I've been contemplating getting a tattoo for quite some time. I want something small and something that I won't regret later in life, so this task of deciding what to get has been difficult. I don't want something that everyone else has, I want something that is both unique and meaningful to me. For the longest time I was contemplating the Sanskrit symbol for "OM" (and I still am), but today while looking up the meaning again (because my memory always seems to fail me on exact details) I came across this: Om Mani Padme Hum I've been thinking I'd like a tattoo that wrapped around my ankle. I'm thinking that this Tibetan script of this mantra would be a good, meaningful choice. It means something to me... the mantra connects with my beliefs. I've been reading more and more on Buddhism and the more I read, the more it makes sense and the more I want to learn and become enlightened. I was once told that if I ever decided I wanted a tattoo to wait one full year before getting it. This way if I still want it in a year and I get it, I won't regret it. So come Jan 2006 if I still want this tattooed on my ankle, I'll get it done. Right now I am: cheerful
